An industrial manufacturer can utilise Microtox® to ensure that its production facility is not contributing point source pollution in non-compliance of its National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit as well as municipal industrial pre-treatment programs. Microtox® results are comparable to approved EPA aquatic bioassays such as ceriodaphnia, fathead minnow, and mysid shrimp.
