Drinking water protection and water quality are critical to human health. Utilising rapid screening technologies can provide quick and reliable results for assurance while saving costs over the traditional laboratory analysis.
Pesticides in surface and groundwater
Toxicity early warning
Natural metals in groundwater (arsenic)
Polymer dosing
Trace metal surface water pollution
Coagulant control
THM in post treatment
VOCs in raw water
Toxicity for deliberate or accidental contamination
Algae and algal toxins in raw water
Modern Water offers technologies that detect pesticides in source water. These technologies for contaminants such as Atrazine, Triazines, Chlordane, DDT and others are offered in an immunoassay test kit format capable of semi-quantitative to quantitative analysis in 45 to 60 minutes. These results are in the low ppb range and are comparable with GCMS and LCMS.
Toxic compounds can enter the distribution system either accidentally or deliberately. Our Microtox® technology for rapid toxicity testing is an early warning tool sensitive to over 2700 chemical compounds and can offer results in just 20 minutes. The Microtox® technology includes portable, bench top and on-line instrumentation. ATP for microbial contamination is also available using the portable analyser.
Trace (heavy) metals can naturally occur in surface and ground water or may arise from industrial environmental discharge. Monitoring in the raw and treated water can provide operators with immediate information to facilitate adequate treatment or raw water source blending. Our trace metal product range includes the portable MicroTrace™PDV and the two online, continuous systems: the OVA7100 and OVA7100 Dual Cell.
Our technology is robust and reliable, can be operated by technicians anywhere in the world and is relatively low maintenance. The portable, laboratory and online systems have a worldwide reputation for quality, reliability and ease of use, enabling customers to monitor pollutant levels, optimise their processes, minimise damage to the environment and protect the health of employees and communities at large.
The Microtox® FX instrument has a combined detection capability that provides a very sensitive and rapid test to detect two of the most probable classes of agents, pathogens and toxic chemicals that may accidently or intentionally contaminate drinking water or wastewater. Microtox® FX’s acute toxicity and ATP detection capabilities make it the ideal instrument for rapidly and accurately assessing if the quality of drinking water, from the source to the tap, has been affected by an incident.
